Join the Churches of Bethany

as We Learn More about Ramadan and the Muslim Traditi0n

The time seems right to intentionally develop more interfaith understanding.  We have met the friendly and open people of the Baitul Aman mosque in Meriden right here in our own coffee hour.  They came to visit us after speaking at First Church UCC, and were also participants in last winter's "Shine the Light" celebration at the Bethany town hall.  We've wanted to return the visit and to go there to learn more about Islam.  Both First Church and Christ Church have a great chance to do that on the 25th as we share in a traditional Ramadan end-of-the-day meal and prayers to break the day's fast (Their invitation is below).

Zahir Mannan, a teacher at the mosque, will give us a tour and overview of their faith at 6:30, and the interfaith Iftar banquet begins at 7:30. You can meet us in Meriden at the mosque at 6:30 or 7:30 or join us in the parking lot behind the carriage shed at 5:30 to carpool together.  Hope to see you then!
